I live in Penn Hills and I have an 18 month old son. I want to join a playgroup for him. I can’t find any though, and I posted a question about this 2 days ago and nobody responded at all. I was thinking about Gymboree but its a 45 minute drive and Logan would be cranky by the time we got there. Are there any others? If not… Is anyone intrested in starting one?! My son goes to the nursery in his church and he loves it! And I figured if I could get another group together or join one it would be great. I work at the Penn Hills Middle School, so I don’t get off until 2:30ish..

If you don’t make a play group, go to the library suggest a weekend reading group for that age group, go to the park. Play groups are hard to find and get people dedicated to joining, 30 minutes should be the max. for 18 months. Your church would be a great place to start, if there are other kids that age.

Try searching for one on
That’s where I found my son’s dayhome, and I’m sure you could find playgroups on there too.
I don’t know what state you live in, so I didn’t do any searches, but you can narrow down the categories to your area.

Go to Yahoo Groups and see if there is a MOM’s (all caps) group in your area. This is an international group for moms. I am a member in the chapter in my area and it is wonderful. If there isn’t one in your area, then try Meetup.com

You can try the International MOMS club. I have no idea if they have a chapter near you but it’s worth an email to them. I haven’t joined yet but I’ve heard really good things about them from a few sources.
Other gyms that may be closer to you are Little Gym or My Gym. You could try other classes too, Music Together is awesome. Check your local YMCA (or other similar recreation/community center) as they usually hold baby/toddler classes like swimming lessons, gym-type classes, baby sign language etc.
You could also talk to the moms of the other kids in his nursery and start your own.
