I hear a lot of conservatives, or neo-cons, complaining about taxes, about liberals, about terrorists, about school prayer, about bill clinton, and about hillary clinton, that we don’t have an oil well at every street corner, and about bill clinton again and about taxes again. It’s all about themselves. That’s whiny.
Liberals complain about a president and his staff who lied us into an unnecessary war and the accumulated war costs (both financial and human). This is not whiny. This is world trauma probably punishable at the Hague.

I’m going to be a Junior in high school and eveybody that I know that seen A Clockwork Orange just found that movie disturbing not funny. Is there any reason why I’m the only one who finds it funny? Could it be that my classmates doesn’t have a sense of humor? Or could it be that I’m just weird? William Thurbough, what ever is his last name, said reviewing the book, “Also the fact this book is funny will go unnoticed.” So he found it funny, why not the rest of my school?

Seems to me the thoughts revealed in sermons by J. Wright, the pastor, and mentor of Obama for 20 years are way more disturbing and reason to separate oneself from that church than a Catholic priest that was just a visiting speaker. Don’t forget, he was white too.

I’m asking for someone else. She is 30, with 2 kids, high school dropout (GED), wanting to go back to school for an Associate’s degree and thinking of something in the health care field because the pay is good.
She isn’t much of a “people person” or outgoing. She likes to work with her hands and fix things and would probably prefer something like carpentry but doesn’t want to struggle in a “non-traditional” field being female. She’s worked as a cashier, cleaning houses, and as a truss builder for a roof truss company. She is something of a “Ms. Fixit”.
She’s thought about forensics just because she finds it cool but isn’t sure she can hack the schooling. Same with X-Ray tech… honestly, all the anatomy and chemistry and such will be challenging for her.
So what other choices are there? Dental Lab Tech? Optical tech? What’s going to be the easiest for someone who has more common sense than book smarts? Looking for a starting salary of at least $25k a year (US).

what has been your experience working with little elementary schoolers?? are they fun? do they put smiles on your face? what reflections do you have know about: the way they learn, they way they share ideas with others, their behavior?
***Overall, I’m looking for a reflection on your students and how that affected you.

I made great friends with this girl when she started in our sixth form this year. I’m 18 and she is 17. We were always laughing and hanging out together. I didnt think she was interested in me in any way as I have been rejected alot by girls in the past and I know im quite fat and not exactly Brad Pitt. I have never had a girlfriend and she has snogged two of the popular boys at partys but that was last year. Apparently they did a bit more to. The thing is we parted for the christmas holidays and we all went out for a drink - me n her were laughing as usual. I thought we would catch up back at school. Then she kept texting me and rang me then everyday as she had free minutes, we talked for hours like we were really close and laughed lots. I was a bit nervous about going back to school, i think she is gorgeous but also wanted our closer friendship to continue. Since we have started back she doesnt sit next to me in class anymore or hang out with me on break. She hangs out with these girls now. We used to hang out over the park. I went to see her the other day where she was hanging and tried to make a joke I just said ‘Ive got so much work to do and files of stuff in my bag its like im carrying a baby elephant around’ She looked at me really horrible and said ‘What! Shut-up F**kin D*ckhead!’ and laughed with the other girls. I was a bit upset but laughed it off, she’d sworn at me before but it didnt seem a joke this time. Every time i try to speak to her since, its awkward and she hasnt text or rung me since. I did hope we might have something, why is she being like this? Maybe its me - lots of girls like chatting to me in school, but i feel nervous and shy when i like a girl and i like her! Any advice?
