Is substitute teaching relevant? What can I say to convince reluctant district administrators?

I am fully certified to teach in two states. In one state, I worked in a Catholic school teaching 7th/8th grades and for a charter school as a Resource Specialist. For the last 4 years there, I worked as a substitute teacher, but was unable to hire on as a permanent teacher. Because of the limited opportunities, I moved from that state to another. I came mid-year, passed all state required tests, passed the background checks, and worked here as a substitute teacher at all grade levels.
My name was submitted by a principal for a 5th grade at his school. During the interview at the district level, one person (who has the yes or no approval) stated repeatedly she was concerned about my lack of “actual” teaching experience. Nothing I said could sway her. Another troubling aspect is they are willing to hire recent graduates with only Student Teaching experience.
I am male, 48 years old, completed teacher training, graduated with honors, and this is a second career.
Any opinions/advice

i live in california and i may move to new york to go live with my daddy and ive been on the web trying to find some high schools and i need help so if u live in new york or even if u don’t but still know of some good catholic, christian or private high school. please tell me of them and give me their site. ***** YOU!!!<333

How Can I Make My Catholic-School Uniform Look Less.Blah?

Hey everyone (:

Okay well I am a teen, and I go to a catholic school in NYC that totally *****. I’m not even Catholic! Lol

SO anyways…the uniform not only hide your assets, but it makes you look hideous. I’ll tell you what it looks like!

What we HAVE to wear:
White ROUND collared shirt
Burgundy&gray plaid skirt
Burgundy hideous round-ish vest or loose-fitting v-neck sweater with white arm stripes on top.
White knee-high stockings or regular white stockings
Round-ish dark brown shoes.

We CANNOT:
Wear ANY makeup
Get caught with a rolled skirt( I still do.)
Get caught with an un-buttoned shirt (I do it sometimes anyways)
Wear any shoes other than the school shoes or regular low-top black sneakers. No platform (NOO! I want converrssseee!)
Wear any hats
Wear any sweaters inside school other than our school ones
Wear any jewelry except dime-sized and smaller earring and one bracelet, maybe a ring.
Decorate our uniform.

Why wont they let us[[ i go to a catholic school && i **** the rules]]?

okay .. we’re not allowed to have our nails done .. NOT EVEN A SIMPLE FRENCH TIP… also if we dont have natural hair .. they’re on us like cows.. like a firend is mine is black && she got color hair extentions blonde.. then later red.. ”they made her take them off… && another died her hair dark blue on accindent..

why is this !?!??!

ohh.. && we cant have percings just like 2 on each ear..

Can my mom make me wear my school uniform until all my homeowrk is finished?

Well my mom has this new rule. When I get home, I cannot change out of my school uniform (Mon.-Thurs.) until all my homework is completed. Studying for tests do not count, but if I get a C+ or lower, I have to wear my school uniform all day Friday after school. I’m not even allowed to untuck my shirt when I get home. As for the weekends, Friday I can change when I get home (unless I got a C+ or lower). Saturday, I can wear whatever I want. But Sunday, after 8:00 AM Mass, I have to change into my school uniform and stay in it until all my homework is completed. I’m free to do any work on Friday and Saturday, but I’m usually busy those days. And since I’m in honors classes, and since it’s a Catholic school, I’m get so much homework every night, especially on the weekends. So is this fair for me?

Do Other Catholic High School Have *** and ******* Alliances?

I got my alumni newsletter from my former high school this month and I was quite shocked and happy to see that they have a *** and ******* support group for the students. For a Catholic high school that is a big step and move upward. I know somebody who works at the school and she told me that it was because of pressure from *** students, *** supporting students, and the parents/faculty that the school had to give in and open up to the *** students with a support group.

Whatever the reasoning was it is good that they have one. Do you know of any other Catholic high schools with gay/lesbian support groups? I wanted to know if this is throughout the school system or my school is one of a few.

if i told my school that guys keep touching my **** while i walk down the halls, would they do anything?

it’s a catholic school, and all the guys slap the girls butts, and i’m getting really tired of it. now they do it to me even more because they know how mad i get. if i told the principal would they think i was a complete idiot? or it would be an inappropriate question? how can i stop it?
