High School blues?

Okay, so my first year of high school is coming up soon. I really want to get involved and was thinking about cheering or joining the swim team. I’ve never cheered before but i watch one tree hill and it seems like so much fun. But I also love to swim and my mom says being on the swim team for four years would look good to colleges. See, I would do both but they’re both winter sports and my high school has this thing where you can only do one sport per season. So what do you think is the better pick? I want to be looked at differently then how I was in middle school. I was always known as the quiet, smart girl..not the kind you really date either..so what do I choose?

Do colleges take high school senior year first quarter grades?

It would probably be of my advantage as I am taking 3 APs this year as opposed to one AP and one honors class last year and I foresee either having all A’s except one AP B or all A’s except two AP B’s, and my GPA is not particularly high - about 3.65 unweighted, 4.05 weighted.

I applied to several colleges in the beginning of January, and just got my transcripts out last week on monday. How long does it take? Months, weeks?

Do most people take pre-calculus in high school? Why do colleges have college-level algebra if people take?

Algebra in high school? They have remedial classes that are lower than college algebra, so does this mean that most college students start with college algebra and not pre calculus or calculus?

Ok so my junior counsellor came to my class and started talking about colleges (college prep school). It got me thinking about college and how i’m gonna pay for it. So i wanna know if it’s easy to get a loan or a grant. I’d also like to know, what is the GPA requirement for Cal Tech in pasadena, ca?

I am a senior in high school and I want to become a dentist once I graduate from college and all. I have great academics and I have been accepted into both colleges. I am able to go to either one without a problem I’m just torn between which one to attend.
