I already possess a Bachelor’s degree, but am considering
going for an Associate’s in the field I want to enter eventually.
Will that look bad on my resume? I don’t have the confidence to enter a Master’s degree program, due to my lackluster GPA earned as an undergrad. Some schools are pretty stringent on who they select as applicants, and unfortunately one’s GPA plays a factor. Plus, I do horribly on standardized exams. At one point in my post-undergrad years, I strongly considered law school. My LSAT scores, even after taking intensive review courses, ended up dismal, at best.
And another question, would going for another Bachelor’s in a different field be unproductive? If not, a third inquiry (sorry..) - would I be required to take core area classes, or could I just focus on classes pertaining to the new major?

People always tell me that i could get into any college i want with my “talent”, but i dont get good grades (i could if i wanted to), so if I put together a impressive portfolio for an art college, do you think they would accept me, or are they strict on school grades and GPA’s and such?

I am a sophomore in high school and have a 3.71 GPA and I am upset with it and so are my parents. My finals are coming up in a few weeks, and I am stressing out. I have already started studying for them. I am also studying for the SAT that I am going to take in March. I have multiple extra curriculars and want to die. What can I do to relieve my stress and do well in school by owning the exams and raising my GPA?

I’m going to be applying this fall to transfer to a university and right now I have a 3.04 gpa. I’m a business administration major and hope to go to law school afterwards and become a corporate lawyer. I’m particularly interested in business law. Also, I’d like to go to a school that’s in an area where there’s a lot of things to do, there’s more girls than guys, and is as far away from Orange County as possible.

I am in 9th grade, and I really want to go to BYU. I am currently going to a charter high school, and my GPA is a 3.1, because the classes are fairly hard. do you think think that BYU will look closely at my 9th grade GPA?

OK I know this may be dumb but I dont know the answer so please help me out. I’m trying to get into a magnet school which I need a 3.0 or higher so how do I determine exactly what my GPA is? Does is combine all of your classes to form the GPA or does each class have its own GPA? I’m in 8th grade btw. This semester my grades were 92 in algebra 1 honors, 95 in english, 93 in science, 98 in spanish 1, and 89 in geography if that helps.

I’m a second year attending UCLA where the med school prep classes are immensely difficult. I need these classes in order to attend med school but if I continue to take them I will risk getting dismissed from the university because of my low gpa. Are the Post Baccalaureate Programs more helpful for students who want to attend med school rather than trying to weed students out?

I originally thought looking for colleges wouldn’t be too difficult but i realized i have no idea which schools would be right for me. I want to go to a school in CA but i want to apply to schools where i can get a good education but still have time to relax. My current GPA is about a 3.5 but im a junior so i have this year to bring it up. After i graduate im hoping to eventually open a board shop (surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding) in Southern CA, which is why i’d like to go to college there. I’m going to work with my guidance counselor but right now im just looking for some ideas.
Location: California or BC, Canada.
Major: Business
thanks a lot for your help!

I would like to begin an MBA program in fall 2009 at a top 25 business school. Does anyone have advice/experience to share about any good schools, schools to avoid, etc? Also, I would appreciate tips about the application process and how to make myself stand out!
